About RootNestLiving
Practical tools for real life — created to make everyday independence feel a little less overwhelming.
There are so many everyday things we’re simply expected to know — how to manage money, plan meals, take care of a home, stay organized and handle the responsibilities that come with living independently.
RootNestLiving was created to make those things easier to learn, with clear information, useful tools and practical steps you can actually use.

Why I Created RootNestLiving
RootNestLiving grew from something I kept noticing in real life: we teach young people many things, but some of the skills they need every single day are often left for them to figure out on their own.
As a mom, I’ve seen how different that transition can look from one young adult to another. Things that seem simple once you’ve done them for years — budgeting, grocery shopping, planning meals, keeping up with appointments, caring for a home — can feel like a lot when you’re doing them for the first time.
I wanted to create the kind of resources I would actually hand to someone I care about: practical, clear and useful, without judgment or the expectation that they should already know.
That became RootNestLiving — and my first book, Before You Move Out: 50 Things Every Young Adult Should Know.
I’m Jasna Jackson, author of Before You Move Out and founder of RootNestLiving.
